Dong Van builds new countryside

(Baonghean.vn) Dong Van Commune, Thanh Chuong District has a natural area of ​​812 hectares, 229.6 hectares of rice land, 22 hectares of fertile land, and nearly 85 hectares of riverside alluvial land. Although it is a purely agricultural commune with limited land and a large population, Dong Van always completes all policies and guidelines of the Party and State, and is considered an excellent unit.

One of the targets for new rural construction that Dong Van has achieved is implementing the second land conversion. From 3 to 4 plots per household, at the end of 2010, each household now has only 1 to 2 plots. The first step of land conversion has encountered some obstacles, especially the people's thinking, some households want food security on their own plots and cultivate them intensively for a long time, some think they will be compensated in the area clearance... The policy of bringing it down to the grassroots for careful discussion, democratic and public, has opened up old thinking, thereby removing current obstacles... Therefore, each hamlet has its own land conversion committee, they themselves shuffle and consolidate areas, exchange plots with each other, only when all issues are resolved will they donate land, so the intra-field, inter-commune and inter-village roads are clearly marked with concrete.

Speaking of rural traffic, Dong Van has basically closed, the inter-commune road of 20.1 km has been asphalted 12.1 km, the inter-hamlet road of 23.1 km has been hardened 13.8 km. Or each alley with a total length of 14.6 km has been hardened 10.6 km.

This result was achieved thanks to the local Party Committee and government implementing the grassroots democracy regulations well. Another advantage is that Dong Van has primary schools, secondary schools, and commune health stations that meet national standards. While many places have dissolved agricultural cooperative models, in Dong Van there are still 3 well-developed cooperatives. Initially, plans for industrial parks and central markets have been formed.

Mr. Tran Dinh Tuy, Chairman of the Commune People's Committee revealed, "The Party Committee and people of Dong Van are determined to successfully build the new rural construction program with a multi-item investment project of the State of 250 billion VND. Currently, the locality is building a 1.7 km long drainage system with an investment capital of 4.6 billion VND and the REII grid expansion project to upgrade electricity with an investment capital of over 8 billion VND.

Coming to Dong Van today, the most outstanding features are still 4 factors: Electricity, roads, schools, and basic stations, and people's lives have improved a lot.
