Film series to celebrate the 12th National Party Congress

The film week to celebrate the 12th National Party Congress will be held nationwide from January 18 to February 5, 2016.

In Hanoi, the Opening Ceremony of the Film Festival to Welcome the 12th National Congress of the Party was solemnly held at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, January 18, 2016 at the National Cinema Center. In Phan Thiet City, Binh Thuan Province, the Opening Ceremony was held at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at the April 19 Cinema.

Two films of Vietnamese Cinema were screened to open the Film Series, including: Documentary "Renewed Country" (produced by Central Documentary and Scientific Film Studio Company Limited) and feature film "On the Peak of Peace" (produced by Feature Film Joint Stock Company I).

The documentary “Renewed Country” (30 minutes, script and director Dao Thanh Tung) summarizes the development path and outstanding achievements of our country under the leadership of the Party during the period of innovation and integration. According to the plan, the film will be broadcast on VTV1 channel of Vietnam Television at 20:10, January 20, 2016.

The feature film “On the summit of peace” (directed by Meritorious Artist Nguyen Huu Muoi, screenwriter Doan Minh Tuan) reflects the simple life and work in the traditional pottery village of the Cham ethnic group in the South Central region and the gradual change in the way of thinking and working of the people here to build and develop the family economy.

The artisans, the sons and daughters of Cham village, through many ups and downs, realized that they could not live forever in poverty. They needed to overcome bad customs and prejudices, innovate their thinking and working methods to adapt to the laws of development of life, while still preserving, respecting and promoting the traditional culture of the nation.

The Cinema Department provides film sources (HD versions) to all local Film Distribution and Screening Centers to simultaneously screen the film “On the Peak of Peace” nationwide. Within the framework of the Film Series, the feature film (video) “Tears of a Father” (produced by the Center for Ethnic, Mountainous and Island Film Production); two documentaries “Renewed Country”, “Lullaby from the Earth” (produced by the Central Documentary and Scientific Film Studio Company Limited) and the Program (video, 155 minutes) for ethnic minorities, mountainous and remote areas, the Special issue “Summary of 2015, welcoming the 12th National Party Congress” are printed in mass (330 copies/program) and sent to mobile film projection teams to screen for people nationwide from now until before, during and after the Spring of Binh Than.
