According to traditional medicine, papaya has a sweet, cool taste, nourishing effects, strengthens the spleen, laxative, clears heat, and benefits the lower body. It cures bloating, indigestion, constipation, rheumatism, and is an antioxidant... Here are some dishes and remedies with papaya that are drawn from folk experience.
* Pinworm treatment: Eat 100 - 150g of ripe papaya early in the morning on an empty stomach for 5 - 7 days.
* Cure acne, dry, dark skin, and melasma: Puree ripe papaya and apply as a face mask 1-2 times a week.
* Treat swollen and painful joints: Use ripe papaya and apply it to the painful joint 1-2 times a day.
* Cure cough, sore throat, hoarseness: Steam 20 - 30g of male papaya flower with a little honey and drink several times a day.

Note: Eating ripe papaya for many days can cause the palms and feet to turn slightly yellow, because one of the 19 carotenoids in papaya is slowly excreted and has not been completely eliminated, causing jaundice. When not used, the jaundice will disappear on its own. Green papaya has a strong digestive effect, eating it when hungry can cause stomach pain. Pregnant women should not eat a lot of green papaya.
