International public opinion evaluates Mr. Putin's visit
On November 12, Russian and international press and media simultaneously reported on Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to Vietnam, praising the good cooperative relationship between the two countries.

RIA-Novosti quoted President Putin's statement after meeting with leaders of the Vietnamese Party and State, affirming that he had conducted very successful and useful talks.
Meanwhile, Russia's RT (Russia Today) TV channel quoted President Putin as confirming that the relationship between Russia and Vietnam has a "special nature," so this visit aims to promote bilateral cooperation and partnership.
The Voice of Russia (VOR) also reported that Russian President Putin laid a wreath at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum right after arriving in Hanoi.
VOR highlighted the event where President Putin and President Truong Tan Sang solemnly opened the "Russian Cultural Days in Vietnam," emphasizing that Russian-Vietnamese cultural relations are developing and that this cooperation will return to the previous level, when Soviet and Russian universities trained great artists in Vietnam such as Dang Thai Son - the first person from Asia to win the Chopin Prize.
Regarding economic and trade cooperation, Russian media quoted President Putin speaking at a press conference on the results of the Vietnam-Russia talks held in Hanoi, saying that the establishment of a free trade area between the Customs Union (including Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan) and Vietnam will promote the increase of mutual trade.
Russian media confirmed that the establishment of a free trade zone between the member states of the Customs Union and Vietnam will contribute to increasing bilateral trade turnover. Currently, negotiations in this direction are being actively conducted.”
British news agency Reuters reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin paid a one-day state visit to Vietnam before visiting South Korea, stating that energy and military cooperation are two pillars in the relationship between Vietnam and Russia.
Meanwhile, the French news agency AFP commented that Russia and Vietnam will promote cooperation in oil and gas exploration and exploitation on Vietnam's continental shelf and strengthen military relations.
