Shaped like an aircraft carrier, Tûranor PlanetSolar has become the world's largest solar-powered ship.

Tûranor PlanetSolar is currently the world's largest solar-powered boat. It has just completed a round-the-world voyage to promote the use of clean energy globally.

The Tûranor PlanetSolar began its round-the-world voyage from Monaco on September 27, 2010. The world's largest solar-powered vessel stopped in Miami, Cancun – during the UN Climate Conference – and the Galapagos Islands in the Pacific Ocean.

The Tûranor PlanetSolar, worth more than 12.5 million euros, is equipped with more than 500 square meters of solar panels to provide electricity for two engines. The maximum speed of this boat is about 26 km/h. The Tûranor PlanetSolar has a capacity of 40 passengers.
