At 3:30 p.m. on January 4, after more than 15 hours of emergency voyage, SAR 413 ship brought 2 bodies from the Bulk Jupiter ship that sank in Vung Tau waters to the port of the Search and Rescue Center of Region III (No. 1151/40, Ward 11, Vung Tau City, Ba Ria Vung Tau).

The two bodies were identified as Captain Ronel Acueza Andrin, 35, of Polillo Quezon, and the ship's third mate. The survivor was Chef Rojas Angelito Capindo, a Filipino national born on August 3, 1972. Before placing the two bodies in the refrigerated truck, the staff of the Regional Search and Rescue Center III performed rituals according to Vietnamese customs.

To avoid confusion, Mr. Johan Kling Berg, Norwegian nationality - Owner of the Bulk Jupiter, asked the crew of the SAR 413 to open the corpses' bags to identify and confirm that the two corpses were indeed his crew members working on the Bulk Jupiter. Mr. Johan Kling Berg said: "I know that when the Bulk Jupiter sank at sea, the crew's chances of survival were very slim. I hope the Vietnamese Government and Vietnamese ships continue to search for the remaining crew members."

Meanwhile, chef Rojas Angelito Capindo is still in shock after the ship sank. “I suffered many cuts to my neck and body, it was very painful, my mind is not really stable.”

The handover ceremony of the Bulk Jupiter crew at the Hall of the Search and Rescue Center of Region III at 4:00 p.m. Mr. Nguyen Anh Vu, General Director of the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center said: “In the past few days, the search and rescue force including the SAR 413 ship, the HQ-608 ship of the Navy Region 2, the Coast Guard ship CSB-4034, 3 flights of aircraft have been searching the sea area of ​​the accident and 8 foreign ships have also joined the search with all their might. Currently, the weather is very bad, the sea is rough and there are frequent gusts of wind at level 9, causing difficulties for the search force”.

Mr. Vu emphasized: "The Vietnamese government and search forces will continue to search until there are no more clues and no more life at sea."

Moved by the act of kindness and generosity of the Vietnamese rescue ship, the owner of the Bulk Jupiter - Mr. Johan Kling Berg shared: "I hope the Vietnamese Government and the ship forces will continue to search for the remaining 16 crew members. That means a lot to us."

Chef Rojas Angelito Capindo received a gift from the Search and Rescue Center of Region III and emotionally said through the microphone: “Thank you, captain of SAR 413, for saving me. If it weren’t for you, I would have been left in the ocean.” Chef Rojas Angelito Capindo was handed over to the Border Guard of Ba Ria Vung Tau province to proceed with the next procedures.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Vu - General Director of the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center said: "Following the direction of the National Search and Rescue Committee, the maritime rescue forces, Navy, and Coast Guard continue to monitor, search, and check information sources related to the refugee incident and continue to maintain search activities at the scene. In the spirit of overcoming all difficulties, not missing any information related to the lives of the crew members in distress."
