Bringing the Mong people's horse racing festival to Hanoi

From February 15-17, for the first time, the Mong horse racing festival will take place in the program "Spring colors across the country" at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism, Dong Mo, Hanoi.

Specifically, there will be about 30-40 people (including prestigious people in the community such as village elders, village chiefs, artisans, typical advanced youth...) and about 10-15 racehorses mobilized to recreate this festival.

The Mong people's horse racing festival will be the highlight of the event.

The spring horse racing festival of the Mong ethnic group is a manifestation of the open-minded, brave and confident spirit of Mong men. Besides, through this racing festival, the Mong ethnic group wants to convey their faith and show their optimism in work and production.

Not only that, the martial spirit of the people of the Northwest mountains is also clearly demonstrated through the spring horse racing festival.

In addition to the horse racing festival, some traditional customs, typical festivals and folk games imbued with the Tet atmosphere such as the fire dancing festival, Central Highlands gong singing and dancing... will also be recreated in the program "Spring colors in all regions of the country" to help the public gain more understanding of the traditional culture of Vietnamese ethnic groups.
