Putting the competitive electricity market into operation from July 1, 2012

Specifically, to progress the implementation of pilot payments according to market prices in May 2012 and put the complete competitive electricity market into operation from July 1, 2012.

Accordingly, the Electricity Regulatory Authority of Vietnam (ERAV) will review existing issues and issue documents guiding units to convert power purchase contracts according to Circular 41/2010/TT-BCT.

In addition, ERAV needs to complete the draft decision on the plan to use gas for power generation in 2012 to submit to the Ministry of Industry and Trade before May 15, 2012.

ERAV issued a list of power plants participating in the competitive electricity market before May 10, 2012.

EVN must direct the National Power System Control Center to coordinate with the Electricity Trading Company to urge the progress of building information technology infrastructure of BOT power plants and import-export electricity metering points.

EVN approved the conversion of current power purchase contracts to model power purchase contracts as prescribed in Circular 41/2010/TT-BCT, to be completed before May 15, 2012.
