On the morning of December 23 (Hanoi time), Berlin-Brandenburg Television, RBB of Germany, released images extracted from the surveillance camera system at a mosque in the capital Berlin, showing Anis Amri - the suspect in the truck attack at the Christmas market on Breitscheidplatz Square in Charlottenburg district - appeared there.

Amri, a 24-year-old Tunisian suspect, arrived at the Fussilet 33 mosque in the Moabit area of Berlin's Mitte district on the morning of December 20, less than eight hours after the attack.

The distance from Breitscheidplatz to the Moabit church is only about 7 km. Surveillance camera footage from the previous period shows that Amri appeared to have appeared at the church on December 14-15, just a few days before the truck attack at Breitscheidplatz.

Earlier yesterday, German authorities said Amri was likely the perpetrator of the attack after many of his fingerprints were found on the truck that drove into the crowd.

Currently, the German Federal Prosecutor's Office has issued a Europe-wide arrest warrant for Anis Amri, along with a reward of 100,000 Euros for anyone providing information leading to the arrest of this suspect.

“We have the first results from the forensic examination. Fingerprints were obtained from the exterior of the truck and from the driver’s window. At this stage of the investigation, we are confident that Anis Amri was driving the truck and have issued an arrest warrant,” said Fraike Koehler, a spokeswoman for the federal prosecutor’s office.

The prosecutor's office is currently working with the Federal Police to track down the suspect Anis Amri based on the data collected. We cannot disclose further details. That would affect our investigation."

French security and intelligence agencies are currently working with German authorities to search for the suspect in the attack on the Berlin Christmas market. French authorities have also sent a description of the suspect, Anis Amri, to all police stations across the country.

French Interior Minister Bruno Le Roux said: “The French side is working closely with the German authorities to ensure that we can participate if necessary in identifying and arresting as quickly as possible any individuals involved in the attack.

We are also investigating some leads on French territory. I ask everyone who has information about the suspect or the attack to inform the security services as soon as possible.”

On the same day, Italian authorities said that Anis Amri had been a problem prisoner during his time in detention in this country. Accordingly, Amri had been reprimanded many times and transferred to different prisons in the Sicily region.

Italian prison records show that Amri had bullied fellow inmates and often tried to incite riots. Amri was held in six prisons in Sicily, serving a three-and-a-half-year sentence for setting fire to a refugee reception center, among other crimes./.
