To grasp the situation and prevent the illegal import and export of pork across the border, on December 25, the Market Management force led by Deputy Director General Chu Thi Thu Thuong inspected and controlled Tan Thanh Border Gate and Coc Nam Border Gate, Lang Son province to ensure supply and demand, and stabilize the domestic pork market.

According to statistics of Coc Nam Customs Branch, from the beginning of 2019 to now, the branch has processed nearly 11,600 customs declarations with a total import-export turnover of nearly 500 million USD, the import-export tax revenue paid to the State budget reached 218 billion VND, an increase of 9.4% over the same period in 2018.

Also during that time, Coc Nam Customs Branch discovered, arrested and handled 105 cases of smuggling and trade fraud in the management area, and imposed administrative fines of nearly 500 million VND.

Regarding the information about "the situation of illegal pork exports flooding across the border", a representative of Coc Nam Customs Branch affirmed, "at Coc Nam Border Gate, there is no illegal pork export situation and this situation has never happened on both official and unofficial routes".

The representative of Coc Nam Customs Branch emphasized that since receiving the directive from the Central 389, Lang Son Provincial Customs force and Coc Nam Customs Branch have done a good job in fighting smuggling and trade fraud, coordinating with border guards and market management forces to stop lines and groups with the risk of trade fraud.

"Coc Nam Customs Branch coordinates with border guards to fight against pig smuggling 24/7," the Branch representative emphasized.

Mr. Nguyen Hong Thuan - Deputy Head of Coc Nam Border Control Station shared that Coc Nam Border Guard forces have developed plans and regularly coordinated with functional forces to inspect and monitor imported and exported goods. Functional forces have even built tents and set up checkpoints on both sides of the border gate to prevent illegal pork exports through the border trade route.

"There is no illegal pig export. We check and control every vehicle that imports and exports goods through official channels, trails, and shortcuts. And no one supports illegal pig export. To prevent illegal pig export, China has built "barbed wire fences" to block this situation, and Vietnam has also built fences and set up checkpoints at shortcuts and trails where smuggling may occur, such as Hill 386 and Khe Ba Lan," Mr. Nguyen Hong Thuan emphasized.
