Man stops to repair car on the roadside, gets hit and killed by truck at night
(Baonghean.vn) - While on the way from Vinh to Quy Hop, a pickup truck broke down in the middle of the road. The driver and his friend were stopping to fix it when they were hit by a truck, causing one person to die on the spot and the other to be in critical condition.
Road Traffic Police Team No. 01 (Nghe An Traffic Police Department) is coordinating with Thai Hoa Town Police to search for the truck that killed one person and injured another and then fled during the night.
Previously, at 8:00 p.m. on January 13, Mr. Nguyen Van Tien, 32 years old (residing in Block 8, Quy Hop town) drove a pickup truck with license plate 37C 29443 carrying a friend from Vinh city to Quy Hop. When he passed Quynh Luu district and reached Nghia Thuan commune, the engine broke down, so both of them got out of the car to check.

While the two were struggling to fix the car, they were suddenly hit by a truck (license plate unknown) traveling from Quynh Chau to Thai Hoa, causing Tien to fly to the other side of the road, killing him on the spot. The other person was transferred to Thai Hoa Northwestern General Hospital for emergency treatment.
After causing the accident, the truck fled the scene. Thai Hoa town police were present at the scene and coordinated with Road Traffic Police Team No. 01 to extract people's cameras to search for the vehicle that caused the accident.
