Stop 2 more toll stations from February 1
Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyen Hong Truong said that toll collection will officially stop from February 1, 2013 at the two toll stations of Can Tho and Tien Cuu.
For the 4 toll stations that have sold toll collection rights to investors to implement the policy of socializing road toll collection in the past (Hoang Mai, Ban Thach, Bai Chay, Phu Dong), Deputy Minister Nguyen Hong Truong also proposed to develop 2 options, in which the option recommends that the State buy back the toll collection rights for the remaining time according to the toll collection rights sale contract, then stop collecting tolls and dissolve the stations.
The deadline for selling the remaining toll collection rights of these stations is December 31, 2014. It is estimated that the amount paid to investors to buy the remaining toll collection rights of these four stations is about VND800 - 900 billion. The Ministry of Transport plans to report to the Prime Minister to direct the Ministry of Finance to pay the investors an initial amount and the Road Traffic Safety Fund to gradually pay the remaining amount over the next 3-4 years.
On January 1, 2013, 17 toll stations stopped operating when the Road Traffic Fund officially came into operation. These stations are: Cau Luong, Cau Gianh, Dong Ha, Phu Bai, My Thuan, Cam Thinh (National Highway 1), station No. 4 (National Highway 14), Ba Che (National Highway 18), Go Dau (National Highway 12A), Trung Ha (National Highway 32), Cau Binh (National Highway 37), Lo Te (National Highway 80); 5 debt repayment stations include Bac Hai Van, Buon Ho, Nhon Tan, KDang, Ma-drac./.
