Erecting a statue of patriot Phan Boi Chau in Nam Dan
Pursuant to Decision No. 5577/QD-UBND.VX dated October 29, 2009 on approving the Project to restore and embellish the Phan Boi Chau Memorial Site in Nam Dan town, the Management Board of Monuments and Landscapes has completed the erection of the statue of patriotic scholar Phan Boi Chau in the grounds of his relic site in Nam Dan.
(Baonghean.vn) -Pursuant to Decision No. 5577/QD-UBND.VX dated October 29, 2009 on approving the Project to restore and embellish the Phan Boi Chau Memorial Site in Nam Dan town, the Management Board of Monuments and Landscapes has completed the erection of the statue of patriotic scholar Phan Boi Chau in the grounds of his relic site in Nam Dan.
The statue of patriot Phan Boi Chau is 4.5m high (the pedestal is 1.5m high, the statue is 3m high) made of a single block of Thanh Hoa stone, adapted by Thanh Hoa Fine Arts Stone Establishment from the model of the group of artists Dao Phuong, Tran Minh Chau, Ngo Hoang Luong, Hoang Hai Tho. Construction began on October 30, 2012, under the supervision of the group of authors, the statue represents the artistic elements, style and spirit of Phan Boi Chau. By December 24, 2012, the statue was completed.

According to the Management Board of Monuments and Landscapes, the portrait of the patriotic scholar Phan Boi Chau was depicted during the period when he initiated and led the Eastern Travel Movement. The selection of the time frame to depict Phan's portrait was agreed upon by the Department of Cultural Heritage, the Institute of History, researchers, etc. and was approved by the Department of Fine Arts, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 3986/QD.UBND.VX dated October 16, 2012. The total value of the project is 1 billion 80 million VND, of which 800 million VND was donated by Phan's descendants, the rest was supported by the State budget.
The inauguration ceremony of the statue of patriot Phan Boi Chau will be held on December 26, on the occasion of the 145th anniversary of his birth (December 26, 1867 - December 26, 2012). On this occasion, the Management Board of Monuments and Landscapes has also organized the renovation of the exhibition room about Phan's life and career, re-roofed the memorial house, and renovated the garden...
