Using the cover of buying and selling fish to 'carry' drugs from the highlands to the lowlands to sell

(Baonghean.vn) - To avoid being controlled by the authorities, a woman in her sixties disguised herself as a fishmonger to "carry" drugs from a remote district to sell for profit.

On June 17, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Khang - Deputy Head of the Investigation Police Department of Dien Chau District Police said that they had just investigated, clarified and initiated a case, prosecuted the accused for illegal possession of drugs against Le Thi Truc (born in 1955), residing in Tien Tien 2 hamlet, Dien Kim commune, Dien Chau.

Thi is an important link that has been monitored by the police for a long time because she has repeatedly exchanged and sold drugs to addicts under the guise of fish trafficking.

Previously, Dien Chau District Police received information from the public that in Hamlet 8, Dien Thanh Commune, a woman from another area came to rent a room. This woman showed many suspicious signs, had no specific job but lived a very lavish life, spending money without hesitation.

After receiving the report, the District Police directed the Criminal Investigation Team on Criminal-Economic-Drug Crimes to collect information and verify. Through initial investigation, the subject was identified as Le Thi Truc (born in 1955), residing in Dien Kim Commune, Dien Chau - with 2 previous convictions for theft of property and trading in counterfeit money.

After being in trouble with the law several times, she refused to “reform” and continued to trade in “white goods”. To have money to support herself, in early May, Truc rented a house in Hamlet 8, Dien Thanh Commune, disguised herself as a fishmonger and went to Que Phong District to find sources to buy drugs to bring back to Dien Chau to sell retail.

Evidence of the case

After getting the goods, she disguised herself as a woman who did laundry or sold fish to retail heroin to addicts in the area. Being a woman, she hid the goods very cleverly, often putting them inside a mask to easily destroy the evidence and escape.

The subject operates without any rules, sometimes delivering in the morning, sometimes in the evening, the delivery location is often proactively contacted by the subject in advance with the addict.

By early June, after collecting all the information and the situation of the subject, Dien Chau District Police set up Project 0616M to "cast the net". At 9:00 a.m. on June 10, when they discovered Thi Truc wearing a mask and driving a red and black Ware motorbike out of the boarding house to deliver goods. Determining that the subject was carrying drugs, two working groups immediately intercepted and caught the subject red-handed.

Searching the subject, the task force seized 3 packages of heroin in the subject's mask. Conducting an emergency search at Le Thi Truc's boarding house, the task force continued to seize 20 packages of heroin. The total seized evidence included 23 packages of heroin with a total weight of 1.65 grams.

At the investigation agency, the subject confessed that due to greed, he went to Que Phong under the guise of a fish trader to buy goods from a stranger in the Kim Son market area, then divided them into small packages to retail to addicts for 200,000 VND each. Truc bought the above drugs for 3,800,000 VND.

Currently, Dien Chau District Police are completing the case file, continuing to investigate and expand the case.
