Some remedies for bronchitis according to each type of disease:

Acute bronchitis:Usually caused by wind cold, wind heat and dryness.

Due to cold:Occurs in the early stages of acute bronchitis. The patient coughs up thin, white phlegm that is easy to expectorate, has a fever, chills, headache, runny nose, itchy throat, hoarseness, thin white tongue coating, and floating pulse. Treatment is to disperse cold and clear the lungs. Use one of the following prescriptions:

Lesson 1: 12g perilla, 10g chives, 6g tangerine peel, 10g Vietnamese balm, 6g ligusticum wallichii, 8g angelica, 8g Chinese angelica root. Boil and drink 1 dose per day.

Lesson 2:Hanh to powder: 10g almonds, 10g perilla leaves, 10g Chinese foxglove, 6g processed pinellia, 6g Chinese clematis, 3 slices of ginger, 4g tangerine peel, 6g poria, 6g licorice, 8g platycodon, 4 jujubes. Grind all into powder and take 15-20g per day, divided into 2 times.

Due to wind heat:Occurs in acute bronchitis and acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis. The patient coughs, coughs up a lot of yellow, sticky white phlegm, has a dry, painful throat, fever, headache, fear of wind, thin yellow tongue coating, and a floating, rapid pulse. Lesson 2:Thanh tao cuu phe thang: 12g mulberry leaves, 12g gypsum, 16g licorice, 12g ophiopogon, 12g loquat leaves, 8g almonds, 4g ginger, 8g turtle glue, 16g codonopsis. Boil and drink 1 dose per day.

Chronic bronchitis:divided into 2 types: phlegm and dampness.

If there is a lot of phlegm, add 8g white mustard seed; if there is chest tightness, add 12g of Chinese clematis.

Cold and damp body:Often seen in patients with chronic bronchitis accompanied by bronchiectasis in the elderly, people with reduced respiratory function, chronic cor pulmonale. Treatment is to warm the lungs and transform phlegm. Use the following prescription: 6g ephedra, 6g cinnamon, 4g ginger, 4g asarum, 6g schisandra, 8g processed pinellia, 4g licorice, 4g white peony. Boil and drink 1 dose per day. If the cough is severe, add 12g of Chinese clematis root and 8g of fritillary flower. If there is a lot of moss stagnation, add 12g of Chinese clematis root.
