Soviet Nghe Tinh Street - A youthful look
(Baonghean) - Going from Vinh Airport to the city center, just at the beginning of Xo Viet Nghe Tinh street, you will surely think that this is truly a "door" of one side of Vinh City type 1; the street is also like a "prism" that evokes the future development of Vinh as the center of the North Central region. The strategic urban planning space on both sides of the street also promises a civilized and modern "standard" appearance of Xo Viet Nghe Tinh street...

Soviet Nghe Tinh Street. |
Xo Viet Nghe Tinh Street is 2 kilometers long, a boulevard connecting VI Lenin Street with the section leading to Vinh Airport. The road is 2-way wide, 4 lanes, and is a road designed and built with the highest quality of art and engineering in the city. After clearing the land to build the road as it is now, with the spread of speed, scale, and construction architecture from the city center, the road from the traffic route with open space for planning and construction on both sides, has gradually formed the face of the street.
The youthfulness of modern design and the arrangement of sidewalk trees, ornamental plants of the median strip... on Xo Viet Nghe Tinh Street always creates an exciting feeling when we travel from the city center to Vinh Airport or down to the coastal tourist town of Cua Lo. So besides the role of "reception" to welcome guests requiring etiquette from the road and air from the North of the city, Xo Viet Nghe Tinh Street is also an interesting relaxing route for tourists when coming to the tourist center of Vinh. And for those who are interested in the "chronology" of Vinh's development over the past decade, when passing this route, they will see many changing aspects of Vinh City today.
There are still echoes of the fields and villages of the residential areas on the outskirts of Vinh when the city had not yet planned to expand to the first-class criteria in 2008. But the constructions of hospitals, car salons, adjacent villas... springing up on both sides of the road have made the small services temporarily opened on the plots of land on the road that were included in the large-scale planning meaningful when creating a new rhythm for the road. The "Anpha Club Bar", "Suburban Leaf House", "99 Coffee", "Garden Cuisine"... whether "a cong" style or rustic style, all have a harmonious feeling. The road is located entirely in Nghi Phu commune, providing a large amount of livestock meat for the city, so the cuisine here always attracts customers with rustic dishes such as: pig intestines, beef tendons and famous Nghi Phu Ngang wine, suitable for all groups who like to drink. The street space is somewhat green and ecological thanks to many plots of land awaiting construction that have been planted with excellent acacia trees or ornamental plant nurseries.

An Hau Pagoda - Historical - Cultural relic associated with the Nghe - Tinh Soviet movement 1930 - 1931. |
Inside the residential areas on both sides of the road, there is still a lingering nostalgia for the countryside with dense bushes and bamboo trees, and the bell towers of Catholic churches are faintly visible. On the East side, there is a market specializing in buying and selling local products with a strange name that makes us curious: "Cho Moi Dau". But it is worth mentioning that on the same East side, there is a small road turning off with a sign "Historical - cultural relic of An Pagoda" of the neighboring suburban commune of Nghi Duc. That is the restored An Hau Pagoda and the vestiges of Duc Hau Pagoda are being proposed by the people to establish a record for recognition as a relic... Surely the Zen Buddhist place always has a spiritual attraction imbued with Vietnamese soul so that people from the city as well as visitors from afar can take a little time to turn in, following the scenic alley, leisurely steps to the pagoda as if being rhythmed by the sound of the bells.Peace in the quiet of the suburbs. An Hau Pagoda is here, and in the temple grounds, incense smoke always lingers warmly before the two large tombs of the two village guardian spirits who are worshiped in the communal house next to the temple, the two great mandarins Truong Quoc Dien and Tran Van Dinh (who assisted King Tran Trung Quang in the resistance war against the invading Ming Dynasty. In 1414, when the king passed away, the two had to temporarily take refuge in An Pagoda, shave their heads and become monks here). Gratitude and kindness are the core of Vietnamese people's behavior. An Hau Pagoda - Historical - Cultural Relic with its name is worthy of being a place for people to return to, to understand the impermanence of life and cultivate goodness, where this "bright and charming place" is gradually becoming a spiritual tourist attraction on the Vinh - Cua Lo tourist route. However, the names An Hau and Duc Hau also evoke a historical spatial connection with the Xo Viet Nghe Tinh road. History records: “May 1, 1930: Under the direction of comrade Le Mao, more than 1,200 farmers from Duc Hau, An Hau (Nghi Loc district), Yen Dung, Loc Da, Duc Thinh (Hung Nguyen district) marched into Vinh - Ben Thuy city to coordinate with factory workers to demand the French owners to implement demands such as: increase wages, 8-hour working day, reduce taxes, support the struggle of Nam Dinh textile factory workers... The protest group was not armed, only hoisted hammer and sickle flags and hung banners, marched in neat ranks and sang the Internationale”. And it was also at An Hau pagoda that General Vo Nguyen Giap returned to meet with key leaders to direct the revolutionary movement of 1930 - 1931...
The highlight of the western side of Xo Viet Nghe Tinh Street is the newly built Nghe An General Hospital with a scale of 700 beds, to meet the needs of medical examination and treatment for people in Nghe An, Ha Tinh and Laos. In the future, when new urban projects with dozens of floors and villas on both sides of the street are built, the General Hospital and Vinh Airport are being upgraded and expanded, creating a bright, vibrant and youthful development in the North of Vinh City, and Xo Viet Nghe Tinh Street extending to Vinh Airport is the backbone for that development...
