Elevator winch broken at construction site, 5 people died
Early this morning, January 30, a serious work accident occurred at the Royal Lotus Hotel construction site, 102A Nguyen Van Thoai Street, Son Tra District, Da Nang City, killing 5 people.
Initial information said that at around 1:30 a.m., a loud noise occurred at this construction site, causing many people to panic and wake up. When the group of workers rushed to the scene, they found 2 people dead on the spot and 3 seriously injured.

Immediately afterwards, the authorities arrived to take the victims to the emergency room. By 9am this morning, all three victims who were taken to the emergency room had died at Da Nang Hospital.
The initial cause was determined to be a broken elevator winch.

The 18-storey Royal Lotus Danang Hotel project (including 1,000 rooms with 4-star standards) is in the completion stage. The project is invested by Duyen Hai Company Limited, and the construction unit is Duyen Hai Company Limited, Military Zone 3.
Speaking to Tuoi Tre, Mr. Nguyen Anh Anh, Head of the Department of Employment and Labor Safety, Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Da Nang, said that he had received information about the incident and was working with professional units to inspect working conditions at the construction site.
