Maintain these 6 habits before going to bed and you will never have to worry about your health for the rest of your life.
Regularly repeating a routine will tell your brain and body that it's time to go to sleep, so you'll sleep better.
1. Brush your hair before going to bed (improves brain function)
According to Chinese medicine, the head of the body is the brain, also known as the “smart house” that connects to the glands and nerves in the body. Combing hair stimulates the acupuncture points on the head, helps improve brain function, regulates the meridians to help prevent disease and promote good health, especially for patients with high blood pressure, atherosclerosis, and neurasthenia.
First, use a comb to straighten your hair, starting from the forehead, brushing from top to bottom, using moderate force. Then use your fingers to gently massage the scalp, using your fingers to brush from the earlobe, the hairline at the nape of the neck and the hairline at the forehead to the top of the head, then focus on massaging the top of the head.
Repeat this 30 times or more, until you feel your scalp tingling, then stop. This action helps blood circulation in the brain, helping the brain receive enough oxygen. This will help improve memory, protect hair roots, strengthen hair follicles, and eliminate mental fatigue.
2. Hang your legs on the wall (burn fat in the calves)
First, lie on the bed, lift your legs, and massage from top to bottom. Maintain the raised leg position without letting it drop. Or you can lie with your legs hanging on the wall in an L shape, this movement can help eliminate fat in the calves.
Hang your legs up in the air at 90°, 45°, and 30° positions, holding each angle for 30 seconds to 1 minute, or as far as you can maintain. This move can build thigh muscles.
3. Massage your abdomen before going to bed (stimulates the activity of the spleen, kidneys and heart)
Abdominal massage can relieve constipation and promote waste elimination, help reduce fatigue after a day of work, in addition to reducing belly fat and regulating body fat, improving digestive health. Better blood circulation to the abdomen will stimulate the intestines.
The best way is to lie on the bed, you clench your fists, use your knuckles to move from the middle of the chest to the navel, note to do only one direction, not the other way around. The intensity should be moderate, you may feel a little stomachache because at that time the kidneys and spleen are stimulated. Do the above massage about 10 to 20 times.
4. Stretch before going to bed (tendon development, increased longevity)
Stretching is the simplest and most practical exercise. It is said that “stretching eliminates fatigue and nourishes the heart”. Stretching helps promote blood circulation, regulates the balance of yin and yang in organs, improves sleep quality and depth, and relieves stress. For women, it also helps reduce premenopausal symptoms.
Stretch your body as much as possible, keeping your arms and legs straight, and try to inhale. Relax your body and then slowly exhale.
5. Soak your feet in warm water (promotes blood circulation)
The feet are the furthest part of the body from the heart, not easy to receive oxygen and blood, in addition, in the cold season, the blood vessels will constrict, making blood supply more difficult. However, the feet are another area of the body where the acupuncture points are concentrated, if the blood supply is not enough, it will affect the normal functioning of many organs such as the liver and kidneys.
Oriental medicine believes that soaking your feet in warm water before going to bed is very helpful in promoting blood circulation and speeding up metabolism. In particular, you can add Oriental herbs to the foot bath water, because there are many acupuncture points and veins on the feet, which can absorb the medicinal ingredients in the water well.
6. Foot massage (detoxifies blood, eliminates toxins)
According to health experts, this helps detoxify the blood, the circulatory system works faster, has the strength to eliminate toxins from the body, and reduces edema.
Use your fists to lightly tap along the sides of your hips to your big toes, between your second toes. Note: Do not massage after 11pm.
By maintaining the above habits, you will notice better sleep and amazing changes in your body, thereby increasing your longevity.
