(Baonghean)-After many years of use, the road system in Tan Ky district (Nghe An) has seriously degraded, affecting the safety of people and vehicles when participating in traffic. Meanwhile, the cost of upgrading, repairing or renewing exceeds the investment capacity and contributions of the people.
For many years, when participating in traffic, people in Tan Ky district have always been worried about potholes and buffalo holes due to subsidence in many sections. Not only inter-village and inter-commune roads but also asphalt roads in Lat town have seriously degraded, the danger of traffic accidents is always latent. The evidence is that in recent times, in Lat town, there have been many unfortunate traffic accidents causing damage to property and lives of people related to the quality of traffic roads.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Sau in Lat town said: “Many times at noon, we heard a loud noise, we immediately guessed it was that pothole again, people are just worried but do not know how to prevent accidents here from happening again”. Mr. Tran Van Sau in Ky Son commune lamented: “From my house to Lat town is only a few kilometers but it is very difficult to travel, the road not only has potholes but has now become buffalo holes. There was a wedding procession passing by, both the bride and groom fell and got their clothes dirty…”
It is known that Tan Ky district has 26 km of Ho Chi Minh road passing through it, hundreds of km of district roads, but up to 60% of them have not been paved, the remaining 40% have many damaged and very badly damaged sections. As for the inter-village and inter-commune roads, they are mainly dirt roads, making travel very difficult, especially during the rainy and stormy season.
The cause was determined to be due to the long time of use, during the use, the maintenance and repair work was not good, so many roads have seriously degraded. Meanwhile, the annual funding for the construction of new rural concrete roads is still limited, the lives of most people are difficult, the investment contribution is also very limited, not meeting the needs of upgrading and repairing the traffic system in the area.
Deputy Head of the Department of Industry and Trade of Tan Ky district said: Maintaining and repairing rural roads is a necessary task at present. However, investment funding is very difficult.
