[E-Magazine] Need a strategy for building and rectifying the ruling Party
(Baonghean.vn) - On the occasion of the 88th anniversary of the Party's founding (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2018), Nghe An Newspaper had an interview with comrade Truong Cong Anh - Former member of the Standing Committee, former Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department about the current issue of Party building.
Reporter:In the 88 years of construction and growth, besides achievements, our Party is also facing difficulties and challenges. What do you think are those issues?
Comrade Truong Cong Anh:On February 3, our Party turns 88 and 2017 also marked the 90th anniversary of the publication of Nguyen Ai Quoc's work "The Revolutionary Path". Right in the work "The Revolutionary Path", Nguyen Ai Quoc raised the relationship between the revolution and the Party; the revolution must first have the Party, and only when the Party is strong can the revolution succeed. This is the first and consistent viewpoint during President Ho Chi Minh's revolutionary activities and before passing away, in his Testament, the first thing he instructed about the Party and first of all was to build and rectify: "... Our Party is a ruling Party, each Party member and cadre must be truly imbued with revolutionary ethics, truly frugal, honest, impartial and selfless. We must keep our Party truly clean, worthy of being the leader, the truly loyal servant of the people".
According to President Ho Chi Minh's thought on the ruling party, first of all, it is solidarity within the Party, national organizations, international solidarity; preserving solidarity is like preserving the apple of one's eye. The ruling party must have a very good plan to develop the economy, take care of the material and spiritual life of the people; it is also taking care of morality within the Party so that each Party member as well as each Party organization as well as the entire Party, is both a leader and a truly loyal servant to the people.
Thus, it can be said that for our Party, the implementation of President Ho Chi Minh's Testament has had many achievements of historical significance, to bring the country from the socio-economic crisis out of a poor country to a middle-class country and now set the goal of basically turning our country into an industrialized country in a modern direction. However, in terms of Party building and taking care of ethics within the Party, it can be said that the Party has not prepared well to prevent and stop the disease of power when our Party becomes the ruling Party. Therefore, when we build a commodity economy, operating according to the socialist-oriented market mechanism, many issues about Party building so that it is large enough to develop that economy, and at the same time capable of protecting itself, to combat shortcomings in political, ethical and lifestyle degradation among cadres and Party members, still arise.
