The police of Kim Giang ward, Thanh Xuan district, Hanoi city, have just coordinated with a local bank to promptly freeze 500 million VND, helping a 67-year-old victim escape the "fraud trap" ofhigh tech crime
Accordingly, at around 10 p.m. on May 21, Ms. NTT, 67 years old, residing in Kim Giang ward, received a video call from her sister's Facebook account, currently living in the Federal Republic of Germany. In the video call, the face and voice of Ms. T's sister appeared.
However, after only a few sentences, the call was disconnected. Immediately after, Ms. T's "sister" texted saying that due to weak network, she could not talk, and asked to borrow 500 million VND to treat her child's illness.
Without any doubt, on the morning of May 22, the victim went to the bank to transfer 500 million VND to the account provided by her "sister". After completing the transaction, Ms. T. called to report but found that the subscriber was unreachable. Feeling that she had been scammed, Ms. T. quickly went to the Kim Giang Ward Police Station to report.

Immediately upon receiving the report, the Kim Giang Ward Police Command directed the working group to go to the bank more than 500m away, where the victim had transferred money, coordinate with the bank to freeze the account and block the transaction, and on the other hand, deploy professional investigation measures.
Ms. NTT is one of the few cases that "fell into the trap" of criminals but was lucky to keep her money, thanks to her alertness and especially the quick and decisive intervention of officers and soldiers of Kim Giang Ward Police.
