Eric Clapton stops touring after 50 years of "wandering"

After 50 years of continuous touring, the famous British singer and songwriter Eric Clapton announced that he was retiring from touring. He also said that “illness” had forced him to stop playing the guitar.

Clapton will stop touring, but focus on studio work. “There are a lot of things I like to do, but I also want to rest. Now I only allow myself to do studio work. I don't want to do things that make me feel awkward,” Clapton told Uncut.

Clapton stormed on stage in Glasgow earlier this week after technical problems interrupted his performance.

Many frustrated fans expressed their disappointment and anger on social media, with one person tweeting that Clapton's actions were "embarrassing and humiliating."

After the concert, Clapton's official website appeared with a statement saying he was "deeply sorry for the disruption to the concert programme".
