Ms. Mogherini made this statement at the informal meeting of European Union Foreign Ministers in Tallinn, Estonia. She affirmed that in the fight against terrorism, European countries have some lessons to look back and listen to.
“We started this work last year and we have been working with key partners, especially in the Balkans, Türkiye, the Middle East, North Africa and also in Africa and South Asia. We have developed a network of counter-terrorism experts from the European Union. We are in dialogue with the authorities of these countries to exchange experiences, as well as learn from them how to prevent radicalization among young people, how to fight terrorism more effectively…”.
Spain and Finland are the latest European countries to suffer terrorist attacks. Over the past 13 months, Europe has been the target of frequent attacks, with truck rammings claiming the lives of nearly 130 people in France, Germany, the UK, Sweden and Spain.
