Express FC (Uganda) came to Vietnam but was eliminated from BTV Cup
Due to problems with the Uganda Football Federation, Express Club was eliminated from the BTV Cup Number One 2012, even though the team arrived in Vietnam at 4:30 p.m. yesterday, November 15.
Express FC (Uganda) is not eligible to participate in BTV Cup 2012 because it did not receive approval from the country's Football Federation.
On October 4, 2012, the Organizing Committee of the BTV - Number One 2012 International Football Tournament received a document from the Uganda Football Federation regarding the sending of Express Club to participate in the tournament. However, on November 12, 2012, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) received a document from the World Football Federation (FIFA) regarding the disapproval of Express Club to participate in the tournament because the club had some problems with the Uganda Football Federation.
While waiting for answers between FIFA and Uganda Football Federation, Express FC is still present in Vietnam. However, on November 14, 2012, although Vietnam Football Federation received a document from FIFA agreeing to VFF to organize the BTV - Number One 2012 international football tournament. However, in this document, FIFA did not approve Express FC to participate in the tournament.
In the spirit of jointly resolving the difficulties of Express Club and contributing to the overall success of the tournament; VFF and the Organizing Committee have sent documents to the Uganda Football Federation and requested that Express Club must have approval from the Uganda Football Federation by 3:00 p.m. on November 15, 2012 to participate.
Up to this point, although Express has arrived in Binh Duong, the tournament organizers have not yet received the approval document from the Uganda Football Federation, so the tournament organizers have decided to disqualify this club from BTV – Cup Number one 2012.
Thus, the BTV Cup Number One tournament will have 7 teams: U22 Vietnam, B.BD, Chonburi FC (Thailand) and Gremio Barueri Club (Brazil) in group A. Group B includes: SHB.DN, SG.XT, Avispa Fukuoka (Japan). The tournament will take place from 16/25 - 11 at Go Dau Stadium (Binh Duong).
