Fatah and Hamas reach preliminary national reconciliation agreement
Egyptian state television and MENA news agency reported that two delegations of the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas and the Fatah movement signed a preliminary reconciliation agreement in the Egyptian capital Cairo on April 27.

Fatah and Hamas have reached an agreement on contentious issues, including holding elections and forming an interim government, Fatah delegation leader Azzam al-Ahmad said, "There is a comprehensive and final agreement."
For his part, Hamas spokesman Taher Al-Nono said: "The two sides have signed initial documents on an agreement. All differences have been resolved."
Delegations from both sides arrived in Cairo on April 26.
