Vietnamese Culinary Culture Festival 2014
To introduce and honor the quintessence of culinary culture and the creative talent of Vietnamese people in culinary arts.To promote traditional dishes, from July 1 to 6, 2014, Ho Chi Minh City Expo International Trade Joint Stock Company will coordinate with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Khanh Hoa province to organize the "Vietnamese Culinary Culture Festival 2014" in Nha Trang city.
The festival opening ceremony will take place with exciting street parades on main roads near the festival area; a reenactment of the story of banh chung and banh day offered to Hung Kings; children's drum performances, puppetry, circus and a music and dance program praising the homeland and the diligence in culinary creativity of the people of the three regions.

Many other special activities are also held within the framework of the festival such as the Vietnamese Cuisine Competition of Three Regions; Beer Promotion Day, Beer Festival; Food Market of Past and Present; Regional Specialties Gathering... In which, the Vietnamese Cuisine Competition of Three Regions is a competition between professional chefs, knowledgeable about Vietnamese culture and cuisine, working at hotels, restaurants, and culinary schools in and outside the country. This is an opportunity for chefs to exchange, learn, practice skills, and promote traditional values and the quintessence of Vietnamese cuisine.
In addition, units licensed to produce and trade beer and alcohol nationwide will participate in the Beer Promotion Day and Beer Festival to promote their products and brands to consumers, attracting the attention and enjoyment of a large number of visitors.
The old and new food market with the theme “Vietnamese Flavor” recreates the space of a rural market with fruit stalls, rustic dishes next to modern stalls serving fast food, fresh food of famous brands. Coming here, visitors have the opportunity to enjoy and buy cakes (Tet cake, Gai cake, grilled corn and cassava, pork skin cake, Khot cake, Beo cake), sweet soups, cakes, candies made on the spot, fruits and drinks…
At the regional specialty gathering, visitors will see unique performances by chefs from famous centers, hotels and restaurants in the country. Many typical dishes from the regions are also displayed such as: La Vong fish cakes, vermicelli with meatballs, jellied meat, green bean cakes... (North); Hue beef noodles, Nha Trang fish noodles, Quang noodles, Tam Ky chicken rice... (Central); pork leg noodles, Sa Dec noodles, pancakes... (South); grilled chicken with salt and chili, ginger and sour bamboo shoots, charcoal-grilled catfish, wild fish hotpot... (Central Highlands); grilled moss, men men, khau nhuc, rice balls wrapped in co leaves... (Northwest highlands).
In addition, the festival also has activities such as flower street with light and flower theme “Lotus Fragrance”; fashion show; performance of ethnic culture and art from different regions; folk games…
The 2014 Vietnamese Culinary Culture Festival was held in a jubilant atmosphere to prepare for the “Nha Trang Summer Tourism – Sea of Rendezvous 2014” season. This is an opportunity for businesses, artisans, and famous chefs to exchange and learn experiences in the art of preparing special, traditional dishes from all over the country; at the same time, it is an opportunity to introduce to local people and tourists the typical dishes of each region to promote and advertise the strengths of Vietnamese culinary culture.
