FIFA investigates Pogba's record transfer

Man Utd's world's most expensive transfer deal is under FIFA's scrutiny due to some unclear terms.

FIFA has sent a letter asking Man Utd to clarify "the detailed terms of the contract", the BBC reported. The source said FIFA wants to know who was involved in the transfer and how much money was paid to these people.

Pogba became the most expensive contract in the world when he returned to Man Utd for a total value of 130 million dollars in the summer of 2016. Four years earlier, the French midfielder left Man Utd for Juventus for less than two million.

"We do not comment on personal terms. FIFA has the transfer documentation after it was completed in August last year," said a Man Utd statement.

The deal to bring Pogba back to Man Utd took a long time and cost a lot of ink in the press. There was a time when both sides almost fell apart because Man Utd and Juventus refused to pay the commission to "super agent" Mino Raiola, Pogba's representative.

In a new book published by two journalists Rafael Buschmann and Michael Wulzinger of Der Spiegel (Germany), Raiola earned nearly 30 million dollars from Pogba's transfer fee. In addition, this powerful broker also got more than 20 million dollars from the 5-year contract between Pogba and Man Utd.

Other terms of the deal include a further $5.5 million payment to Juventus for Pogba's services, plus another $5.5 million if the midfielder renews his contract.

Last summer, Juventus claimed "economic losses of up to $80 million" after completing the Pogba transfer.
