The case file shows that at the end of October 2024, Xuyen bought a package of pink meth for 2.5 million VND and hid it in the garden to resell for profit. On the afternoon of November 2, 2024, Xuyen sold a part of the purchased package of drugs to Hai for 6 million VND.

The next day, Xuyen asked Hai to take the pink drugs he had bought to Vinh City (old) to exchange for crystal meth to sell. Hearing that, Hai agreed but took out more than 2 grams of drugs to sell to someone else.

At 5:00 p.m. the same day, Hai gave Xuyen drugs. Xuyen mixed the drugs with her own and then they both picked up Nguyen Ngoc Lam to go to the city together.

On the way, Lam asked Xuyen and Hai to buy crystal meth to use and both agreed. Lam contacted Bui Huy Hoang to ask him to buy crystal meth for him. Hoang called Hau to ask for crystal meth and Hau agreed. Hau put the drugs in a cigarette pack and told Nguyen Van Bao to give it to Lam.

At around 0:30 a.m. on November 4, 2024, when Xuyen, Hai, and Lam returned to an apartment building in Vinh City (old), Xuyen gave Lam 2 pills of drugs to use and was arrested by the police. Afterwards, the subjects Bui Huy Hoang, Ho Trung Hau, and Nguyen Van Bao surrendered to the police.

The investigation agency determined that Xuyen and Hai must bear criminal responsibility for the act of buying and selling more than 28 grams of Methamphetamine; Xuyen must bear additional criminal responsibility for the act of possessing 0.493 grams of drugs. Lam must bear criminal responsibility for the act of buying and selling 0.284 grams of drugs and possessing more than 0.2 grams of drugs.

The subjects Hai, Hoang, Hau, and Bao must bear criminal responsibility for the act of possessing more than 0.2 grams of drugs.

About 4 years before his arrest, Hai bought 2 homemade pistols that fired bullets for 1.8 million VND for use. By the end of 2022, Hai hid the 2 guns at his parents' house. Therefore, Hai must bear criminal responsibility for the act of possessing these 2 military guns.

At the trial, the defendants admitted to the crimes as charged in the indictment. They stated that they committed the crimes because of greed and drug addiction.

After considering the role of each defendant in the case, the panel sentenced Bui Van Xuyen to 10 years in prison for "Illegal drug trafficking" and 2 years in prison for "Illegal drug possession"; the total sentence is 12 years in prison.

Sentenced defendant Hoang Van Hai to 11 years in prison for "Illegal drug trafficking", 18 months in prison for "Illegal possession of drugs", 2 years in prison for "Illegal possession of military weapons"; total sentence is 14 years and 6 months in prison.

Defendant Nguyen Ngoc Lam was sentenced to 4 years in prison. Two defendants Bui Huy Hoang and Ho Trung Hau were each sentenced to 18 months in prison; defendant Nguyen Van Bao was sentenced to 15 months in prison for "Illegal possession of narcotics".
