Nearly 1,000 passengers participated in the Vinh-Vientiane international flight route.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of February 17, the Provincial People's Committee held a meeting to review the situation after 1 month of implementing the Vinh-Vientiane international flight route and promote the development of the flight route. Comrade Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the meeting.
Under the strong direction of the provincial leaders and the active participation of departments and branches at all levels, the Vinh-Vientiane international flight route was put into operation on January 12, 2014. The operation of the flight route created an opportunity to promote cooperation and socio-economic development of Nghe An; creating favorable conditions for people to travel between the provinces of Central Vietnam and neighboring Laos as well as the Northeast region of Thailand. After 1 month of operation, the Vinh-Vientiane flight route has operated 20 flights, with nearly 1,000 passengers.

At the meeting, representatives of provincial departments and branches assessed the advantages and difficulties in developing the Vinh-Vientiane international flight route and proposed solutions to promote the development of the flight route.

Concluding the meeting, Mr. Huynh Thanh Dien highly appreciated the efforts of provincial departments, agencies and branches in coordinating and creating favorable conditions for the opening of the Vinh-Vientiane international flight route. In the coming time, relevant units, agencies and branches need to overcome difficulties, have synchronous coordination, and create the best conditions for the flight route to operate effectively. In particular, it is necessary to pay attention to propaganda and promotion of the flight route on mass media; promote and introduce Nghe An's tourism products, investment promotion activities, business cooperation... to Laos, the Northeast of Thailand and vice versa, so that the Vinh-Vientiane international flight route will increasingly develop, creating opportunities to develop other international flights.
