Nearly 200 outstanding young people set off for Truong Sa archipelago
On the morning of May 28, 198 delegates of the delegation "Journey for the homeland's sea and islands" boarded ship HQ-571, departing from Cat Lai port, Ho Chi Minh City, towards Truong Sa archipelago.

The Youth Ship Program "Journey for the Homeland's Sea and Islands" in 2014 was jointly organized by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Navy Command with the theme "Youth for Vietnam's Sea and Islands Sovereignty."
The delegation participating in the program “Journey for the homeland’s sea and islands” in 2014 are outstanding representatives of the country’s youth, including officials, doctors, businessmen, artists, reporters, students, etc. with excellent achievements in work and study and many positive contributions to social activities.
The journey will last 10 days, passing through the islands of Truong Sa archipelago and DK1 platform, expected to end and arrive at Cat Lai port on June 6, 2014.
During the trip, the delegates will visit, give gifts, and learn about the actual situation and living conditions of the people and soldiers of Truong Sa island district, DK1 platform, and conduct research on two projects: wind-powered lighting on the islands and a research project to build an artificial turf football field on the island.
Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Nguyen Long Hai said that through the “Youth Journey for the Homeland’s Sea and Islands,” youth across the country have the opportunity to take many practical and concrete actions to express their support and create spiritual motivation for the soldiers and people on the islands.
Being the sixth consecutive year of implementing the program, “Journey for the homeland’s sea and islands” has truly become an activity of profound political significance for young people to express their enthusiastic patriotism, youthful vanguard spirit, and at the same time express their strong determination to protect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Vietnam’s seas and islands./.
