The results of the Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment exam have been registered by 105 universities and colleges for use in admissions in 2024.

In 2024, Hanoi National University is expected to organize 6 exam sessions and serve 84 thousand registrations. The final exam session will take place on June 1 and 2, 2024 in Hanoi, Hung Yen, and Hai Duong.
On February 18, Hanoi National University officially opened the registration portal for the first round of the 2024 capacity assessment exam. This registration round will be for candidates who want to take this exam between April 23 and March 24.
The Hanoi National University Examination Center plans to organize exams for 8,000 candidates this time, at 3 locations including Hanoi, Nam Dinh and Thai Binh.
According to the instructions, candidates register for the exam at: http:/hsa.edu.vn/ and choose the exam location, exam date, and exam session. The registration system only allows accounts to log in and operate on one computer device at the same time. At the same time, the system allows candidates to register for a maximum of 2 exams/year (as of December 31, 2024). Two consecutive exams must be at least 28 days apart. The exam session will automatically close when registration is full.
Candidates need to choose the test session to assess their ability to avoid overlapping with the school's semester exam schedule or the exam schedule of the Department of Education and Training organized in early April every year.
Regarding the competency assessment test, candidates will still take the test on computers as every year, taking 195-199 minutes.
The exam structure consists of three parts with objective multiple choice questions (choosing answers) and fill-in-the-blank questions in the fields of Mathematics (50 questions, 75 minutes), Literature - Language (50 questions, 60 minutes), Natural and Social Sciences (50 questions, 60 minutes).
Parts 1 and 3 will have 1-3 additional test questions that are not scored. Candidates will check their test results and receive their certificates 14 days after taking the test. The certificates will also be sent to the address and phone number that candidates declared when registering.
Previously, in 2023, Hanoi National University organized 8 rounds of competency assessment exams. The number of candidates registered for the exam was more than 90,000, the number of official candidates was more than 87,000, the largest number from Hanoi (37% of the total number of candidates), followed by Nam Dinh (7%). The results of this exam were used by 74 universities and academies for admission.

The Center for Testing and Training Quality Assessment - Ho Chi Minh City National University has just announced a list of 105 universities and colleges that have registered to use the results of the Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment exam for admission in 2024. Of which, 88 external training units use the exam results to partially consider admission quotas in 2024.
According to the list, the Ho Chi Minh City National University system has 9 members, including: University of Technology, University of Natural Sciences, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Economics and Law, University of Information Technology, International University, An Giang University (An Giang province), Ho Chi Minh City National University Branch in Ben Tre province and Faculty of Medicine.
In addition, there are 8 colleges that also consider admission based on this exam score, including: Binh Phuoc College (Binh Phuoc province), Cao Thang Technical College, Southern College, Ho Chi Minh City International College, Saigon Gia Dinh College, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Pedagogical College (Ba Ria - Vung Tau province), Tay Ninh Pedagogical College (Tay Ninh province) and Vien Dong College.
According to the plan, this year's Ho Chi Minh City National University's capacity assessment exam will be held in two rounds before the national high school graduation exam.
Specifically, candidates can take part in the first round of the exam (taking place on April 7 in 24 provinces/cities); the second round (June 2 in 12 provinces/cities), or both rounds.
The registration portal for the first round of 2024 is open until March 4. Candidates can register online at: https://thinangluc.vnuhcm.edu. The results of the first round will be announced on April 15. The results of the second round will be announced on June 10.
