Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Hoang Xuan Luong - former Deputy Minister, Vice Chairman of the Government's Ethnic Committee; leaders of the Department of Culture and Sports; representatives of the provincial Ethnic Committee; Department of Culture - Information of Ky Son, Tuong Duong, Que Phong districts and students attending the class.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, comrade Quach Thi Cuong - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports stated: With a history of hundreds of years, the Mong ethnic group in Nghe An is an ethnic community containing many unique and distinct cultural identities.

However, in the current trend of cultural integration and assimilation, folk performing arts of ethnic minorities in general and Mong people in particular are facing the risk of extinction. Through the training course, the capacity of folk songs, folk music, and folk dance is improved for artisans, clan leaders who are prestigious people in the community, Mong ethnic students, and cultural officials in districts where Mong people live.

During the 3 days (from June 5 to 7), the trainees will be informed of the following contents: Guidelines, policies and strategies related to the preservation of ethnic minority culture in general and Mong ethnic culture in particular; Mong ethnic cultural characteristics in Nghe An; Mong ethnic music, characteristics of Mong folk songs in Nghe An; practice scarf dance, umbrella dance, panpipe dance and Mong ethnic dancing skills; practice Mong folk songs./.
