Street nameplate named after General Vo Nguyen Giap
On December 28, the People's Committee of Da Nang City held a ceremony to name a street after General Vo Nguyen Giap. This is a priceless "gift" that the people of Da Nang City offer to the General, an outstanding son of the country, an excellent student of President Ho Chi Minh, who fought and sacrificed his whole life for the cause of national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland.
The road named after the General is 7km long, stretching from Nguyen Huy Chuong Street to Minh Mang Street, passing through the areas of Man Thai, Phuoc My wards (Son Tra district), Khue My, My An (Ngu Hanh Son district).

Vo Nguyen Giap Street is considered the most beautiful street in Da Nang today with a synchronous structure, complete infrastructure as well as harmonious natural landscape. Naming Vo Nguyen Giap Street between Hoang Sa and Truong Sa streets shows the undying belief in Vietnam's undeniable sovereignty over the two sacred archipelagos of the Fatherland, and at the same time shows gratitude to the talented General of the nation because during his lifetime he always fought for the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the homeland.
Intersecting Hoang Sa and Truong Sa streets with the starting point being Nguyen Huy Chuong Street and the ending point being Minh Mang Street, the association of the General's name with the names of two historical figures, one a general with a life of active revolutionary activities through two resistance wars against France and the US, the other a king of the Nguyen Dynasty with great contributions in exploiting and preserving the sea and islands as well as expanding power abroad has further honored the value of the General's personality and humanity.
