Linking the work of the Education Union with practice and focusing on the grassroots

On the afternoon of August 28, Nghe An Education Trade Union held a conference to summarize the 2019-2020 school year and deploy tasks for the 2020-2021 school year. The conference was held online and had the participation of representatives of Education Trade Unions in 21 districts, cities and towns.

In the 2019-2020 school year, along with the general difficulties of the entire education sector, Nghe An Trade Union also had many practical activities to support more than 4,000 cadres, teachers and workers in the entire sector affected by the Covid-19 epidemic with an amount of more than 2 billion VND.

Other activities of the Education Trade Union are also effectively implemented and have many innovations, focusing on grassroots care activities, paying attention to every union member and worker.

During the school year, the sector launched the program “Offices helping offices, schools helping schools” to provide timely support to schools in remote, isolated and disadvantaged areas. Dialogue conferences were organized between sector leaders and non-public schools and cadres, teachers and workers in mountainous districts.

The industry trade union has also done a good job of caring for, representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of cadres, teachers and workers; participating in management; building harmonious and stable labor relations. Emulation movements and campaigns have also been responded to by schools, creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere in all educational activities. During the school year, 481 products won A and B prizes at the industry level for writing about innovative experiences.

At the summary conference, the Trade Unions at all levels also had many discussions to enhance the role of the grassroots Trade Union. In addition, solutions were proposed to overcome the limitations and shortcomings, which is that the organization of activities and emulation movements in some units is still formalistic.

Or there is still a situation where the activities of some grassroots trade unions are still poor in content and form; lack of initiative in choosing content. The quality of collective labor agreements is not high, and there are not many provisions that are beneficial to workers.

Entering the 2020-2021 school year, Nghe An Education Trade Union will carry out 6 key tasks. In particular, continue to strongly innovate the content and methods of Trade Union activities, focusing on the grassroots.
