Mr. Lo Van Thang - Head of Khe Ran village, Bong Khe commune said: Up to now, the gong and Thai folk song club of Khe Ran village has more than 20 members. For the club to operate effectively, the village management board has called on people to support each year by voluntarily contributing 5,000 VND to the fund, plus support from the commune budget. Thanks to the contributed fund, the Club has purchased the necessary tools for its activities.

Every week, the club organizes activities and practices once at the community cultural house. Currently, the club has 20 artists divided into 3 groups: the first group is the elderly artists, specializing in composing Thai folk songs; the second group specializes in xap, lam, nhuon, singing and dancing lam vong; the third group serves as gong and chiem performers. Every time there are tourist groups visiting, the club organizes performances after meals.

Currently, in addition to Khe Ran village club, Nua village folk song club, Yen Khe commune, established in 2008, is also operating quite effectively. Currently, the club gathers 10 cultural cores of the village, regularly meeting on weekends. The village cultural house becomes a stage for club members to perform folk songs, folk music, and folk dances. Through common activities and participating in performances in villages in the commune, the love for traditional folk songs gradually grows in the club members.

Ms. Vi Thi Mo, a member of the Thai folk song club in Nua village, Yen Khe commune, happily shared: I joined the Thai folk song club partly because of my passion, and more importantly because I want to preserve the cultural identity of the Thai people... What I find most exciting is that after each performance for tourists, I leave more impressions on tourists and I feel more proud of myself.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Nam, head of the Department of Culture and Information of Con Cuong district, said: In the past, when tourists came to Con Cuong after visiting tourist attractions, they often returned home the same day, but now it is different, visitors often stay overnight because they want to learn about the traditional culture of the Thai people. This is something we are very happy about. Therefore, we will continue to exploit the strengths of the model of folk song and dance clubs to develop tourism, attracting more and more tourists to Con Cuong.
