Dozens of people were engrossed in cockfighting and gambling on dice at a land lot deep inside a rubber plantation in Thuan An town (Binh Duong) on the afternoon of December 1, when nearly 100 police officers stormed in. Many gamblers threw away their money and ran away, but were all arrested, a total of 75 people.
Police seized about 500 million VND and many other evidences at the scene.
The casino was organized by Ho Vien Phuong (39 years old), who arranged for his underlings to guard and keep watch very carefully. Those who came to gamble were "guaranteed safe" by the casino owner and served food and drinks all day.
