Press meeting of the 2nd Nghe An Television Cup Tennis Tournament

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of August 4, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, Radio and Television Station, Nghe An Provincial Youth Union held a meeting with press agencies to prepare for the 2nd Nghe An Television Cup Tennis Tournament, the "Support to School" Campaign in 2014.

Attending were comrade Dinh Thi Le Thanh, member of the Provincial Party Committee - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, leaders of relevant departments and branches and representatives of press agencies in the province.

Meeting scene

Last school year, the "Support to go to school" program launched by the provincial Radio and Television Station, the Department of Education and Training and the Nghe An Provincial Youth Union had many results: Building 15 boarding rooms in the communes of Huu Khuong (Tuong Duong), Na Ngoi (Ky Son) and Luc Da (Con Cuong); dozens of boarding kitchens were equipped with utensils and more than 7,200 children in remote and border areas were given books, notebooks and red scarves with a total value of 1.26 billion VND.

Following the results of the first Nghe An Television Tennis Cup, this year the tournament has been registered by over 100 athletes with the presence of neighboring provinces such as Ha Tinh, Thanh Hoa, and has had nearly 10 organizations and individuals initially supporting. The tournament will be held in 2 days, from August 16 to August 17.

Acknowledging the initial success and significance of the Award, on behalf of the People's Committee of Nghe An province, comrade Dinh Thi Le Thanh also considered this a very meaningful and humane activity aimed at disadvantaged students. She also requested the press agencies to continue to promote and call on all levels, sectors, units and kind-hearted people to continue to care and help with books, learning and living supplies for students in remote and border areas to practically support the program "Support to go to school" in 2014.
