Meeting with experts from the former Soviet Union and Russia who helped Vietnam

On the afternoon of August 5, in Moscow, the Vietnamese Embassy held the 43rd traditional meeting of former Soviet and Russian experts who worked in Vietnam.

At the beginning of the meeting, amateur singers of the Vietnamese Community in Russia performed many Russian and Vietnamese songs to praise the heroic and resilient fighting spirit and the international communist fighting spirit as well as the love for the homeland of generations of Vietnamese and Russian people such as "Russian Fields," "Aliosa," "Doi Bo," "Hot Youth," "Autumn Hanoi," "Red Flower Season," "As if Uncle Ho were here on the great victory day," etc.

Speaking at the opening of the meeting, Ambassador Pham Xuan Son stated: It has become a tradition for the Vietnamese Embassy to coordinate with Vietnamese and Russian associations to organize this meeting to express gratitude for the great contributions and selfless contributions of former experts from the former Soviet Union and the Russian Federation to the cause of defending the Fatherland of the Vietnamese people.

This year's meeting took place in the context of the recent successful official visit to the Russian Federation by President Truong Tan Sang, with the two sides issuing a joint statement affirming that they will develop and strengthen the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

The Ambassador stated that the meeting with former experts is a form of people's diplomacy and expressed his hope that former Russian experts will continue to contribute to and foster the Russia-Vietnam friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries to develop more strongly and effectively.

Many of the hundreds of delegates present at the meeting recalled the arduous and fierce years of war, but also the fraternal fighting spirit and loyal comradeship between Vietnam-Soviet Union and Vietnam-Russia.

Many delegates who have had the opportunity to return to Vietnam today have expressed their admiration and joy at the great achievements in the cause of restoring and building the country of Vietnam. They all wish Vietnam to progress quickly, strongly and more firmly on the path of building a democratic, peaceful, prosperous and civilized socialist country.

At the meeting, representatives of the Vietnamese Association, the Vietnamese Business Association and the Vietnamese Community in Russia presented gifts and presents to Natalia Lupinogova - daughter of the late expert Vitaly Smirnov who died in Vietnam in 1965./.
