(Baonghean.vn) - On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 25th anniversary of the National Defense Day, on the afternoon of December 17, at the hall of the Provincial Military Command, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Provincial Fatherland Front Committee held a meeting with retired senior military officers and Heroes of the People's Armed Forces from Nghe An, who are living in the province.
Attending the meeting were comrades: Ho Duc Phoc - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Tran Hong Chau - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Le Quang Huy - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, comrades in the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and representatives of leaders of departments, branches and sectors in the province. At the meeting, comrade Ha Tan Tien, Commander of the Provincial Military Command, on behalf of the Organizing Committee, delivered a welcome speech: Over the past 70 years, generations of cadres and soldiers of Nghe An Armed Forces, with their intelligence, efforts and blood, have contributed to building the glorious tradition of the heroic Vietnam People's Army. Through two resistance wars and wars to defend the Fatherland, Nghe An was both the frontline and a large rear base providing human and material support to the battlefields. At the meeting, the retired generals affirmed that the glorious achievements of Nghe An armed forces today are always associated with the leadership of the Party, the guidance of President Ho Chi Minh and the eldest brother of the Vietnam People's Army - General Vo Nguyen Giap, with the blood and bones of many fallen heroes and martyrs. They hope that the armed forces of the province will promote their traditions to contribute more to the cause of building and defending the country.

Speaking to the generals, heroes of the people's armed forces, and retired senior military officers, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ho Duc Phoc affirmed that the sacrifices and hardships of previous generations have always reminded today's generation to forever remember and educate themselves and train to contribute to building a strong army, firmly protecting the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; wishing that the armed forces of the province will constantly improve their political qualities, train revolutionary ethics, fighting spirit, vigilance and in any conditions and circumstances must overcome difficulties to complete their tasks, together with the forces to firmly protect all revolutionary achievements of the Party, Uncle Ho and our people.
