(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of March 15, at the Cultural and Sports Center of Thua Thien - Hue province, a meeting was held with veterans of the Tri - Thien B4-B5 battlefield to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the liberation of Thua Thien Hue (March 26, 1975 - March 26, 2015), the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2015).
Attending the meeting were comrade Le Kha Phieu - former Secretary of the Party Central Committee, former leader of the Tri - Thien battlefield in the resistance war against the US to save the country; generals, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces; Party Committee of Military Region 4 Command, Army Corps 2, leaders of Thua Thien - Hue province and 700 veterans of units participating in the Tri - Thien campaign in the past.

In addition to praising the timely, correct and creative direct leadership of the Politburo, the Central Military Commission and the General Command, Major General Vo Van Chot expressed his deep gratitude to the people and soldiers of Tri - Thien Hue who fought side by side with the main force of the 2nd Corps to achieve complete victory. At the meeting, the veterans also expressed their gratitude to the people, comrades of Tri - Thien and many comrades who fell in the campaign to liberate Tri - Thien Hue as well as liberate the South and reunify the country in the spring of 1975.
Speaking at the meeting, former General Secretary Le Kha Phieu - former leader of the Tri Thien battlefield - assessed the importance of the victory of the Tri Thien battlefield for the 1975 Spring General Offensive and Uprising, unifying the country. The former General Secretary also hoped that the soldiers returning from the battlefield would continue to promote the spirit and bravery of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the cause of national construction.
