Meeting with Dien Bien Phu veterans in Vinh City
(Baonghean.vn) - In a warm and emotional atmosphere, on the morning of April 30, 2014, nearly 200 veterans, their families and relatives of Dien Bien Phu martyrs in Vinh city held a meeting to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory Day. Comrade Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee attended the meeting.
The Dien Bien Phu veterans in Vinh City, most of whom are over 80 years old, emotionally recalled the days of “digging mountains, sleeping in tunnels, eating rice in the pouring rain, and mixing blood and mud” but our soldiers were still “undaunted and unyielding”. The veterans could not forget the fierce battles, fighting for every inch of land with the French army from the Him Lam battle that opened the campaign to the battles in Muong Thanh, Hong Cum, and on Doc Lap Hill and A1 Hill.
