Meeting to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the tradition of the Military Region 4 Barracks

(Baonghean.vn)- On August 9, the Logistics Department of Military Region 4 held a meeting to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the traditional day of the Military Region's Barracks sector (August 10, 1955 - August 10, 2015).

Attending the meeting were Major General Nguyen Tan Cuong, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Commander of the Military Region; Lieutenant General Vo Van Viet, Party Secretary, Political Commissar of the Military Region.

Over 60 years of construction and growth, generations of cadres, soldiers and employees of the Barracks of Military Region 4 have always promoted a high sense of responsibility; proactively overcome difficulties, closely coordinated with Party committees and commanders at all levels, and sought the attention and support of superiors to effectively implement basic construction investment work.

In particular, from 2002 to present, the Military Region Barracks sector has advised the Party Committee Standing Committee and the Military Region Command to effectively direct the emulation movement "Building and managing regular, green, clean, and beautiful barracks", contributing to improving the quality of soldiers' lives.

Up to now, the entire Military Region has 59.7% of the military using tap water, 100% of temporary houses and seriously degraded level 4 houses have been eliminated, 100% of soldiers have hot water to bathe in in the winter. Along with that, the Barracks Department of Military Region 4 has also effectively carried out the work of planning barracks and examining, appraising, and implementing the work of investing in basic construction with focus, key points, and high efficiency. Thanks to that, the quality of basic construction, ensuring good quality of barracks, houses, and barracks are spacious, standardized, and unified.

With its achievements, in 2010, the Barracks Sector of Military Region 4 was awarded the Third Class Fatherland Protection Medal; the Ministry of National Defense awarded a Certificate of Merit for outstanding achievements in 10 years of implementing the emulation movement "Building and managing regular, green, clean, and beautiful barracks" (2002 - 2012).
