Meeting to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the tradition of Regiment 1 - Division 324

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 20, Regiment 1 (Binh Long Regiment), Division 324 organized a meeting with generations of officers and soldiers to review the heroic and glorious tradition of the unit.

Regiment 1 of Division 324, formerly Regiment 803, codenamed Binh Long Regiment, was established on June 20, 1950 in Phu Cat District, Binh Dinh Province. As the first main unit of Inter-Zone 5 established during the resistance war against France, the Regiment, together with the army and people of the whole country, continuously achieved many resounding victories in the campaigns in Quang Nam - Da Nang, An Khe, Dong Xuan 1953 - 1954, contributing to the important victories in the historic victory of Dien Bien Phu.

On July 1, 1955, the Regiment was the unit present on the first day of the establishment of the 324th Main Division. In response to the requirements of the Lao revolutionary mission, in March 1963, the Regiment fought side by side with the armed forces and people of the Lao ethnic groups to carry out the noble international mission.

In May 1966, the Regiment entered the South with the main units to participate in the Route 9 Southern Laos counter-attack campaign, the Quang Tri liberation campaign in 1972 and continued to participate in the historic Ho Chi Minh campaign in 1975 to completely liberate the South and unify the country.

During the construction, fighting and growth, many units and individuals in the Regiment were awarded the title of Heroic Unit of the People's Armed Forces by the Party and State; the Party and State of the Lao PDR awarded 2 First Class Military Exploit Medals, 1 Third Class Military Exploit Medal, 2 Second Class Freedom Medals; more than 500 officers and soldiers were awarded the First Class Itxa La Medal and the Friendship Medal of the Party and State of the Lao PDR...

In the current period, the Regiment has been continuously selected by the Military Region and Division to build a comprehensively strong model unit, always excellently completing all tasks and receiving awards from the Party, State, Ministry of National Defense, and Military Region 4 Command.
