(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of February 25, Hung Nguyen district organized a meeting with priests and representatives of pastoral councils of parishes in the entire district.

Hung Nguyen currently has over 23,000 Catholics living in 15 communes and towns. The whole district has 6 parishes, 34 parishes, 31 churches and 1 religious order. Over the past year, under the leadership of the Party, the management of the State and the coordination of the District Catholic Solidarity Committee, the Pastoral Council of the parishes, Catholics have been assured to work, produce, and actively participate in social movements, contributing to building Hung Nguyen into a rich and civilized homeland.

In the work of building the political system, Catholics actively participate with a high sense of responsibility, with the church's direction of operation "Living the gospel in the heart of the nation", especially Catholics well implement the content of "Seven good lives" in the movement "All people unite to build cultural life in residential areas, live a good life and good religion".

Speaking at the conference, representatives of the Pastoral Council of parishes proposed that the government continue to pay attention to supporting and creating conditions for the construction of drainage ditches on Nguyen Van Troi Street, the section passing in front of Hung Yen Nam parish church; repairing and upgrading Nguyen Truong To Street, the section passing through hamlets 6A and 6B Hung Yen Bac; upgrading the road section from dyke 42 to Hung Nhan; widening the slope and bridge to Phu Long parish church. Also at this conference, delegates expressed their gratitude for the Party and State's attention to parishioners, and promised to continue to encourage parishioners to live a good life and follow their religion, accompanying the government to build Hung Nguyen more and more prosperous and more worthy of being the homeland of the patriotic reformer Nguyen Truong To.
