Construction of MDF artificial wood processing factory. |
One day at the end of 2014, we had the opportunity to return to the construction site of the MDF wood and fiberboard processing factory in Nghia Dan. On the field, hundreds of engineers and workers are rushing to carry out the construction items. A lot of machinery and equipment are being deployed under the drastic and highly professional management of PMU as well as the efforts to overcome difficulties of all contractors of the project. Currently, the factory is in the final stage of completing phase I, including 2 production lines of wood bars with a capacity of 12,000m3/year and MDF wood with a capacity of 130,000m3/year. Mr. Dinh Van Thoi, representative of the installation team, an experienced engineer in many large-scale industrial projects, said: "We are very excited that day by day, the work is gradually taking shape according to plan under the strict supervision and coordination, specific and detailed instructions of the PMU management board. We strive to complete the remaining work according to the planned schedule, and test run the production line before Tet, which is a great joy for all staff and workers at the entire construction site as well as the investor."
The project of the MDF wood and fiberboard processing factory of May Forestry Joint Stock Company started construction in February 2013, within the framework of the project "Building a wood processing factory and developing sustainable forests in Nghe An" with a total investment of 500 million USD, including: Bar wood processing factory with a total investment of 150 million USD, capacity of 8,800 m3/year; MDF fiberboard processing factory with a total investment of 350 million USD, capacity of 400,000 m3/year. Since the commencement date, despite certain difficulties, with the attention and enthusiastic support of the provincial leaders, agencies, departments, branches and Nghia Dan district, the close direction of the TH Group leaders as well as the efforts of the staff and workers of May Forestry Joint Stock Company, a large amount of work of the project has been implemented according to plan.
Currently, the team of engineers and workers are completing the installation of the main line equipment of the sawmill, which is expected to be completed and put into trial operation in early February 2015. The auxiliary items of the sawmill production line are expected to be put into trial operation before the Lunar New Year (mid-February 2015). The investor is also implementing preparations for the installation of the main line of the MDF factory and will start installation in mid-January 2015 and complete the equipment installation in June 2015. The auxiliary items for the entire synchronous MDF line will be completed and put into trial operation in early September 2015. The entire project will be completed and put into production in September 2015.
Mr. Nguyen Binh Long - Project Construction Executive Director, said: Although the initial progress in the factory construction is as planned, the project completion process still faces many obstacles. Currently, vehicles transporting raw materials and construction materials for the factory must go through the hamlet's residential roads. Road D1 is still not completed and connected to the project's internal road system. The 35kw power line is also facing many difficulties when the connection plan to the project's power system is continuously pushed back. Although there are only final tasks left, if the plan continues to slip, it will directly affect the connection plan and equipment test operation.
The MDF wood and fiberboard processing factory invested in Nghia Dan with modern technology when put into operation will create jobs for a large number of workers and promote the development of raw material forests, contributing to the budget for the province. The products produced by the factory will meet international quality standards, competitive enough in demanding markets such as the US, Japan, and the EU thanks to the investor's selection of the best technology and equipment suppliers in the world. These are the equipment for forming, continuous compression and board status of Dieffenbacher Company (Germany); the technology equipment for producing fiberboard of Metso Company (Sweden); the technology of chipping, cleaning and storing chipping of Hombak/CMC Company (Germany); the technology of sanding products of Steinemann Company (Germany); technology for cutting products to final size of Anthon Company (Germany)... However, to match the trial production schedule of the panel line and the production and business target plan right after Tet, it is necessary to speed up the opening of the 35KV power line and the traffic route from the factory to Dong Hoi road and Ho Chi Minh road before January 10, 2015. Failure to open this route will be a great difficulty for the project during the phase of supplying and installing large-scale and mass equipment of the MDF Factory as well as transporting raw materials for the production and trading of products of the panel factory.
