In an interview with Russia-1 TV channel, Gazprom Chairman Alexei Miller stated: "Yes, this is the final decision, South Stream is closed. The decision to stop the project was based on the fact that it is impossible to implement this project in the circumstances of obstruction and delay. And of course, this is a deliberate policy of the European Union. On April 17 this year, the European Parliament adopted a resolution on banning South Stream."
On December 1, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the decision to freeze the construction of "South Stream" on the grounds that EU authorities were preventing the project from being implemented./.
