Vietnam's GDP growth among the best in the world in 2016
Vietnam's GDP is forecast by the Economist Intelligence Unit to increase by approximately 7% and rank 9th in the group of countries with the best GDP growth in the world.
According to forecast research by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) of the Economist Group, Vietnam's GDP growth in 2016 is among the top 10 countries with the best GDP growth in the world.
Specifically, EIU forecasts global GDP to increase by 2.7% in 2016. In 2015, global GDP growth was only 2.4%. According to EIU, the reason for the low global GDP in 2015 is due to weak growth in the eurozone, Japan and emerging economies.

List of countries with worst and best GDP growth in 2016, according to EIU forecast |
In the general picture of the global economy in 2016, according to the EIU's forecast, the dark color covers many countries that rely on exporting goods, such as Venezuela, which is sinking deep into recession; and Brazil, which is also in the same situation when falling oil prices and the scandal related to the energy company Petrobras are negatively affecting investment in oil and gas.
In addition, many countries at war are also forecast to have the worst growth this year. For example, Libya’s GDP continues to be sluggish, extending the decline that began in 2013.
Among the countries with forecasted positive GDP growth, EIU believes that many emerging countries in Asia will have good GDP growth, including Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. The growth of these countries is mainly driven by increased personal consumption and tourism.
Vietnam's GDP is forecast to grow by approximately 7%, equivalent to the 2016 target set by the National Assembly last November. Vietnam ranks 9th in the group of countries with the fastest GDP growth rate in the world.
Leading the list of countries with forecasted rapid GDP growth in 2016 is Turkmenistan, followed by Laos, Cambodia…/.
