(Baonghean) -Implementing the directive of the Provincial People's Committee and the plan of the Provincial Police Director on restoring traffic safety order, the Provincial Police organized a campaign, mobilizing all forces to carry out many measures to check and handle traffic safety violators, carrying weapons and supporting tools.

According to the plan, the Provincial Police established 3 special task forces in plain clothes to patrol and control the roads to promptly detect and handle violations of traffic safety and those carrying weapons and supporting tools. This measure has been really effective.

During the first 10 days of the campaign - from October 21st to now, the provincial police force has conducted 44 patrols and inspections with 484 officers and soldiers participating; recorded 1,332 violations, including 1,331 cases of not wearing helmets, 14 cases of resisting officers on duty; temporarily detained 452 motorbikes. Also during this campaign, 10 cases of carrying weapons and supporting tools were discovered, 1 sports gun, 10 bullets and 2 pepper spray cans, 2 drug use kits, 3 fake license plates and 2 stolen motorbikes were confiscated.

Major Le Hong Son - Deputy Head of the Handling Team - Traffic Police Department of the Provincial Police, said: "In patrolling and handling work, we encounter many difficulties with some subjects, especially young people carrying more people than the prescribed number, not wearing helmets, deliberately resisting inspection but administrative fines are not allowed to keep the vehicle. The handling penalty according to current regulations is too light, only from 150,000 to 300,000 VND, so it is not enough to deter many subjects.

The results of the first 10 days of the Provincial Police's campaign to restore traffic safety and social order are remarkable. However, to ensure sustainable traffic safety and limit traffic accidents, patrolling and controlling must be maintained regularly and continuously, and handling of violators must also be strictly implemented. The police force needs to increase patrolling and controlling, especially at intersections, intersections, and traffic junctions, to prevent violations of red lights. In addition, the Provincial People's Committee needs to promptly issue additional sanctions for traffic safety violations to maintain strict discipline and law in the field of traffic safety.
