(Baonghean) -From June 13 to 16, the 17th “Young Non-Professional Informatics Contest of Nghe An Province” took place in Vinh City. The contest ended but left many good impressions on the quality of contestants, professional quality as well as the organization...

The 17-year journey of the amateur youth IT competition has had many positive changes. If the previous requirements of the Organizing Committee were limited to office IT knowledge and short-term multiple-choice tests, the competition content is now more diverse, expanded and more closely related to reality. This year's exam questions are assessed by experts as scientific, reasonable, in accordance with the rules and qualifications of the candidates. Although this is an "amateur" playground, the security and grading work has been carried out with "professionalism", ensuring fairness, speed and accuracy.

Candidates do the test seriously.

This year in particular, in addition to the participation of candidates in the plains and urban areas, there were also candidates from mountainous districts such as Tuong Duong, Ky Son, Quy Hop... To create conditions for students to participate in the provincial competition, since the end of April, Tuong Duong District Youth Union has coordinated with local schools to organize a survey on the quality of IT for students. Thereby, select students with solid knowledge, gather them into a team, invite experienced IT teachers to train them for 15 days. After that, re-screen and select excellent students to participate in the provincial competition. This time, Tuong Duong has 8 candidates competing at all 3 levels (High school: 1 student; Middle school: 4 students and Primary school: 3 students), of which 4 students won prizes. This shows that the IT level of students between regions has gradually become uniform, the education sector of mountainous districts has focused on teaching IT to students. Names like Moong Van Cheng (Ky Son Ethnic Minority High School); Kha Trung Kien, Vang Thi Kim Yen (Tuong Duong) really left an impression on the judges with their IT skills.

Awarding prizes to the contestants.

Among the winners this year, in addition to familiar faces such as: Bui Quy Bao (4 times won prizes at the Provincial Competition and 3 times participated in the National Competition); Pham Tien Manh...., there are many new faces, participating in the competition for the first time but having excellent results. They are Phan Xuan Tien (11A1, Vinh University High School for the Gifted) with a maximum score of 30/30; Thanh Xuan won the first prize for creative software. According to the jury's assessment, the 7 creative software participating in this year's competition, there are software with high practical applications; the ideas come from the students' learning and living processes. Typical examples are the software "Interaction via the network", "Calculator personal computer design program" and the product "Chemistry teaching program"...

In primary school, students demonstrated their logical thinking while solving math problems; presenting spelling... In the drawing section, with the theme of the environment, students vividly expressed the content, presented attractively and called for the participation of the community in environmental protection through practical actions: planting trees, collecting waste... In particular, there were 3 candidates who were only in grade 2 (born in 2003) but still participated in the contest, although they did not achieve high results, they showed their passion for information technology; demonstrated their awareness of applying IT to study, creative work...

It can be said that the Youth Informatics Competition has created a useful playground and a healthy learning environment for the young generation to practice skills, improve their IT knowledge, and contribute to promoting the application and development of IT in learning and living. However, the competition also shows that although the IT learning movement has changed, it is still uneven between localities and education levels; The number of schools teaching IT and programming is still not high; some localities have not invested and prepared carefully for candidates participating in the competition...
