Coffee price today January 12, 2025: Sharp drop again, unpredictable fluctuations
Today's domestic coffee price, January 12, is at 118,300 - 119,000 VND/kg, a sharp decrease of 400 - 500 VND/kg. Tomorrow's coffee price is forecasted to only stay at the highest level of 119,000 VND/kg.
Domestic coffee prices today
Domestic coffee prices today in the Central Highlands region decreased again from 400 to 500 VND/kg, fluctuating between 118,300 - 119,000 VND/kg.
Accordingly, traders in Dak Nong province are purchasing coffee at the highest price of 119,000 VND/kg. A decrease of 500 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Similarly, coffee prices in Dak Lak province also had the highest price at 119,000 VND/kg, down 500 VND/kg.
Coffee prices in Gia Lai province decreased by VND500/kg and were traded at VND118,800/kg.
In Lam Dong province, coffee prices decreased by VND400/kg to VND118,300/kg.

Coffee exports from Vietnam are improving significantly in January 2025 compared to this time last year, temporarily preventing a price spike in the first quarter of the new year.
The Import-Export Department forecasts that in 2025, Vietnam's coffee exports will continue to grow as supply increases and consumer demand from countries around the world increases.
Experts predict that coffee prices tomorrow, January 13, 2025, will not fluctuate much, will likely stabilize, and will only stay at the highest level of 119,000 VND/kg.

Robusta Coffee (London):
Delivery March 2025: Down 13 USD/ton, to 4,966 USD/ton.
Delivery in May 2025: Down 12 USD/ton, to 4,879 USD/ton.
Arabica Coffee (New York):
March 2025 delivery: Up 5.35 cents/lb, to 323.85 cents/lb.
May 2025 delivery: Up 5.1 cents/lb, to 319.8 cents/lb.
Dry weather in Brazil has supported arabica coffee prices, after the Somar Meteorologia agency reported earlier this week that Brazil's largest arabica coffee growing region, Minas Gerais, received 62.5 mm of rain last week, equivalent to 86% of the historical average.
“Although weather conditions in Brazil have improved with sufficient rainfall, the supply outlook remains tight in 2025,” BMI said.
Meanwhile, robusta coffee is under downward pressure as qualified inventories begin to increase. According to I & M Smith, Vietnam - the world's largest producer and exporter of robusta coffee, is accelerating the pace of harvesting, processing and shipping coffee in the domestic market.
Coffee deliveries are expected to gradually increase at the key robusta coffee export port in Ho Chi Minh City over the next two weeks, ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday, when trade activities are expected to come to a halt.
